Description: This opportunity seeks audio series in the Horror, Thriller, or Romance/Soapy space focusing on Millennial or Gen-Z women. Realm is looking for pilot scripts with a rough page count of 25-40 pages. This pilot should establish the world of the show, the primary character and a sense of the journey they will go on, and the stakes and tone of the show, as well as evaluate it for audio-forwardness. Scripts should be already adapted for audio; they are not currently evaluating screenplay or teleplay material. Winners will receive a $1,000 cash prize and a $500 travel reimbursement to attend the 31st annual Austin Film Festival, which will occur October 24 – 31, 2024. In addition, Realm executives will have one-on-one meetings with fellowship winners and provide script feedback.

Avant-Garde Masters Grant - For Filmmakers

Award Amount: $5,000 - $50,000
Description: This grant supports the preservation of a film or films by a single filmmaker or from a cinematic group significant to the development of avant-garde film in America. Works made within the last twenty years are not eligible. Applications should show how the proposed titles have significantly contributed to American experimental film or, if the works are lesser known today, demonstrate how the films will contribute to a better understanding of avant-garde film history. Grants are available to public and 501(c)3 nonprofit archives in the United States, including those that are part of federal, state, or local government. This grant will fund several preservation projects between $5,000 and $50,000.
